Briefly Share Your Nursing Background And Professional...
Briefly share your nursing background and professional interests. My nursing background is in women and childrenââ¬â¢s health care. As a clinician, I have practiced in acute and primary care settings. My professional interests include nursing genomics, nursing leadership, and new program development. Summarize how informatics has impacted or changed nursing practice. Provide an example from your professional experience. According to Dr. Ken Majowski (Laureate, 2011) health care informatics has been in existence for at least the past two to three decades. Ozbolt Saba (2008) state that ââ¬Å"in the second half of the 20th centuryâ⬠the focus of nursing informatics was on the development of ââ¬Å"a standardized languageâ⬠(p. 199). In the 1970ââ¬â¢s, informatics included ââ¬Å"nursing care planning and documentationâ⬠(Ozbolt Saba, 2008, p. 200).
